I am honored to serve as the Principal of John T. Magee Middle School and am excited to be entering my 4th year in the district. Middle school is a pivotal time in a young person’s life, and I feel truly privileged to walk alongside our students during these important years. I believe that every student holds the potential for greatness, and it is our responsibility to help them discover and reach that potential.
My entire educational career has been at the secondary level, and middle school holds a special place in my heart. I am passionate about creating a school culture where learning is not only meaningful but also fun and engaging for both students and staff.
At Magee, we strive to foster a love for learning in an environment where everyone feels seen, valued, and welcomed. Building strong relationships and maintaining open, honest communication are at the heart of everything we do.

Es un honor ser la Directora de la Escuela Secundaria John T. Magee y me emociona comenzar mi 4° año en el distrito. La secundaria es un momento crucial en la vida de un joven, y es un privilegio para mí caminar junto con los estudiantes durante estos años tan importantes. Creo que cada estudiante tiene un gran potencial para lograr la grandeza, y es nuestra responsabilidad ayudarles a descubrir y alcanzar ese potencial.
Mi carrera educativa entera ha sido a nivel secundaria, por lo que tiene un lugar especial en mi corazón. Me siento apasionada por crear una cultura escolar en la que el aprendizaje no sólo sea significativo, sino también divertido y atractivo tanto para los estudiantes como para el personal escolar.
En Magee nos esforzamos por fomentar un amor por el aprendizaje en un entorno en el que todos se sientan vistos, valorados y bienvenidos. Edificar amistades y mantener una comunicación abierta y honesta está al centro de todo lo que hacemos.

As I begin my second year as assistant principal at John T. Magee Middle School and my 20th year in education, I am filled with gratitude and excitement to continue serving this incredible school community. It has been a joy getting to know our students, families, and staff, and I look forward to deepening those connections in the year ahead.
Middle school is such a pivotal time in a student’s life, full of discovery, growth, and transformation. Being part of this journey—supporting students as they explore new challenges, celebrate achievements, and build lasting relationships—is a true privilege. Whether I’m visiting classrooms, cheering on our athletes, enjoying student performances, or connecting with families, I remain inspired by the energy and spirit that make Magee such a special place.

Al comenzar mi segundo año como subdirectora de la Escuela Secundaria John T. Magee y mi vigésimo año en la educación, estoy llena de gratitud y emoción por seguir sirviendo a esta increíble comunidad escolar. Ha sido un gozo conocer a nuestros estudiantes, a sus familias y al personal escolar y estoy lista para seguir fortaleciendo estas relaciones.
La escuela secundaria es un tiempo crucial en la vida de un estudiante ya que está lleno de descubrimientos, crecimiento y transformación. Es un privilegio ser parte de su trayectoria al apoyar a alumnos mientras exploran desafíos nuevos, celebran sus logros y comienzan amistades duraderas. Hello and welcome to John T. Magee Middle School! My name is Citlali Flores, and I am honored to serve as the Assistant Principal of Student Services. I was formerly Dean of Students at Round Lake High School. Before that, I was the 4th/3rd-grade bilingual teacher at Murphy. It is a privilege to work alongside our dedicated staff, supportive families, and most importantly, our incredible students.
At Magee, we are committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where all students can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. In my role, I focus on ensuring that every student receives the support they need to thrive, may it be through counseling services, behavioral interventions, student wellness initiatives, or partnerships with families and community resources.
We believe that every student is capable of success, and it is our goal to empower them with the tools and opportunities to reach their fullest potential. I look forward to working with you to make this school year a positive and enriching experience for all.

¡Hola y bienvenidos a la Escuela Secundaria John T. Magee! Mi nombre es Citlali Flores, y es un honor para mi servir como subdirectora de servicios estudiantiles. Anteriormente fui decano de estudiantes en la Escuela Preparatoria de Round Lake. Antes de eso fui maestra bilingüe de 3° y 4° grado en la escuela Murphy. Es un privilegio trabajar junto al personal escolar tan dedicado, junto a nuestras familias tan solidarias, pero más importante, junto a nuestros estudiantes increíbles.
En Magee, estamos comprometidos con fomentar un entorno seguro, inclusivo y de apoyo para que todos los estudiantes puedan crecer académica, social y emocionalmente. El papel que yo desempeño es asegurar que los estudiantes reciban el apoyo que necesitan para prosperar, ya sea a través de consejería, intervenciones de conducta, iniciativas de bienestar estudiantil o alianzas con familias y recursos en la comunidad.
Creemos que cada estudiante es capaz de lograr el éxito y es nuestra meta empoderar a los estudiantes con las herramientas y las oportunidades necesarias para alcanzar su máximo potencial.
