Dr. Jeff King

Welcome to Magee Middle School!  Your child’s middle school experience will be a pivotal stepping stone leading into high school and beyond. Together, we will build the foundation of your child’s academic and social/emotional presence in the world.  The experiences that your child will have at Magee will influence their path for success in high school, college or career and most importantly in life.  Our staff pledges to make “doing what’s best for kids” the centerpiece of every decision that is made in an effort to equip your child with skills necessary to succeed in whatever it is they choose to pursue.

While I am excited about being in my 2nd year as Principal at Magee, I come to this position with many years of experience as a teacher and as an administrator.  I know the value of a good education for children and while my experiences have reinforced this, I have the fortune of being married to my best friend and together, we are the proud parents of two wonderful daughters who were given the gift of a good education through a strong home/school partnership.

Your partnership with us is greatly valued!  We know that a great education is the gatekeeper of future success and a solid home to school connection is the foundation!  As parents, there are many ways you can be involved in the life of this school and in your child’s education. A pivotal piece is setting a tone for the importance of why they are at school.  Please take the time each day to ask questions about your child's day at school and know that we welcome your involvement and input.

Our goal in working with you is to ensure that we educate the Whole Child! Please reach out to me or your child’s teacher if there is any way we can support you in this important year!

Sincerely,

Jeff King, Ed.D.

Mrs. Brittany Howard

Welcome back Cougars!

I am excited and privileged to be starting my second year at Magee. I believe that middle school is a pivotal moment in a child's life. I am honored to be able to be part of that journey for all our students. I truly believe that all students have the full potential to reach greatness. Our goal is to create a love for learning and an environment where everyone feels welcome.

I have ten years of middle school experience. I have taught science, social studies as well as language arts. Middle School is truly where my heart is and I am constantly looking for new ways to make learning fun and exciting for both students and teachers.

Building relationships is key to student success. It is important to me to maintain clear and honest communication at all times. Please feel free to contact me at any time! I look forward to getting to know all of our students and families this year.

Mr. John Randolph

Welcome to Magee Middle School!

I am honored and excited to serve as the new Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instruction here at Magee Middle school. I am especially excited to be back in my favorite realm…the formative years of a middle school student. I come from Indian Hill Elementary where I was the Assistant Principal for the past 3 years. Prior to that I was a curriculum and instruction specialist for science, instructional coach, and middle school science teacher here with Round Lake Area Schools. District 116 is where my heart has found its place among dedicated educators and staff, valued students, and a wonderful community, all of whom want nothing but the best for our students. Magee is not new either. I had the privilege of coaching volleyball here for 5 years and saw firsthand the talent and drive our students possess. Go Cougars!

Education is my second career. After I graduated high school, I joined the Marine Corps and was honorably discharged after 4 years of service. I moved to Illinois and was an automotive technician where I restored vintage Jaguars and worked for Mercedes Benz as a systems technician. I loved what I did but found that education was my true calling. Here at Magee, our passion is education. We recognize the vast potential within each and every student that passes through our doors and are committed to their success. Together, anything is possible.

This year will mark the 25th anniversary of being married to an incredible wife that has guided and supported me with all her heart and soul. Together we have one daughter who recently graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She majored in biochemistry and successfully completed the Air Force ROTC program and was commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant this past May. We are beyond proud and wish her all the best in her journey forward.

I am honored to be teaming up with Dr. Jeff King, Mrs. Brittany Howard, and an incredible staff that all have the talent, love, and dedication to ensure our students receive the best educational experience possible and are prepared for high school and beyond. I look forward to meeting new families and friends and continuing to work with the incredible community that is Round Lake.

Sincerely,

John Randolph
