The Round Lake middle school music program is to foster students’ fullest potential as competent musicians and aesthetic performers in a positive environment that nurtures everyone’s abilities as holistic learners through which they will learn important life skills that will help develop strong leaders and productive members of society.
Our students have the opportunity to showcase their musical abilities during school / district band and choir concerts.
Our students also participate in community performances, field trips, and more!
Band
Middle school band is a dynamic program where students in grades 6 through 8 come together to learn and perform music. In this setting, students have the opportunity to explore a variety of musical instruments, such as brass, woodwinds, and percussion. The band program focuses on developing fundamental musical skills, including reading music, playing in rhythm, and mastering techniques specific to each instrument.
Students will have the opportunity to perform at school concerts, district concerts, and community events.

Choir
Middle school choir is a collaborative program where students in grades 6 through 8 learn to blend their voices with others, enhancing their ability to work as a team while also developing their individual vocal skills. In this setting, students learn to sing in harmony, develop their vocal technique, and understand the fundamentals of music theory, such as pitch, rhythm, and dynamics.
Students will have the opportunity to perform at school concerts, district concerts, and community events.
